To be fair, the White Guy (D) could’ve been a block of finely aged Parmesan cheese and I still would’ve voted for it over Mark Robinson’s bigoted ass.
Something that hit me while reading…One of those 700 votes for Riggs is mine. That realization - that the electorate does have a voice that one side is trying to silence, suddenly added to my outrage.
Same here. Voted straight Blue. Fortunately my absentee vote wasn’t challenged(I checked)because I voted in Henderson County, the county I last resided in.
It’s “win if you can, but cheat if you can’t”. It’s maddening. It’s disgusting and it’s now never-ending.
Is Henderson County just past Asheville heading toward Charlotte? I’m in Cherokee county in the far west of the state and bordering Georgia and Tennessee. I say this because I know the lady who was in charge on Election Day. She told me, “I’d rather have every single person who walks in here vote straight ticket Blue that cheat someone out of a vote THEY believe is best for our country.”
That’s the kind of character that’s going extinct.
I admit, though: I was truly worried. I would’ve been Fred Sanford having a heart attack shocked if Robinson had won, but I wouldn’t have been surprised.
Yeah. This is the Trump-Musk (Musk-Trump?) wet dream - zero out the federal government and have an entirely "free market" economy (See Jeff Bezos' latest pronouncement, re: WaPo Opinion section). Free markets and trickle-down economics are two of the grandest fictions ever perpetrated on a nation of people.

Fully agree on both points. Robinson was a gift to Dems.

As a born North Carolinan, I just got to say it, I am depressed as hell…..
I get that . . .
The same; Asheville. The gerrymandered Blue Dot in a MAGA sea of red.
