Remember when the then-President and his lackeys claimed the Presidential election had been stolen, and then filed 60 lawsuits citing election fraud, not one of which was supported by the evidence?
Ah, good times.
You may have noticed a curious phenomenon in the current election cycle – that same ex-president has been going around saying that people don’t need to worry about voting for him.[1] At a recent Fox News town hall, he insisted that he doesn’t want voters who have not been loyal to him in the past. Per The New Republic: It’s not the first time Trump has attempted to wash his hands of the labor required to win a fair election. Speaking in Detroit in June, Trump said of his campaign, “We don’t need [the] votes,” and “We got more votes than anybody’s ever had.” Instead, he argued that the campaign needed to “guard the vote” in anticipation of a “steal.”
Folks in the psychology game call that kind of thinking “Projection.”
The best part about this guy and his MAGA folks is that they always say the quiet parts out loud. Note, for example, how they published their entire playbook online (Agenda 2025), and then what’s-his-name scrambled to distance himself from it, despite the fact that his name appears 312 times in the document. (Some have labelled this fact as “misleading.”)
The Stolen Election game is once again afoot, and this time they’re not waiting to lose the race – the plan is to build in confusion and mistrust of the process ahead of the event. There’s no reason to win the popular vote when your scheme is to throw the election into doubt – and into the House of Representatives, the majority of whom will gladly usurp the will of the American public for, well, whatever Der Fuhrer wants.
This is January 6 redux – the once and future plan to create enough uncertainty about the validity of votes from multiple states, ultimately requiring Congress to fall back on an election by members of the House. As I understand it, they’re working the plan at the state level, just as before, with operatives preparing to refuse to certify vote counts and instead submit alternate electors. If the number of electors is tied, or in doubt, such that neither candidate reaches the required majority, a shitshow ensues. The irony of trying to pull this off with the presumptive next President in charge of the electoral count is not lost on us.
As of about a week ago, the North Carolina State Board of Elections has had 12 lawsuits filed against them in the previous 43 days, with 4 coming in the previous 12 days. The claims are largely superficial, and the relief sought is frequently illegal – for example, one the latest lawsuits wants to remove voters from the rolls despite that not being allowed within 90 days of the election.[2] It should come as no surprise that the heat is on the NCSBE – Dems outnumber their opposition board members three to two.
Another source of outrage against the Board is the RFK Jr. debacle, during which he had to sue to get himself on the ballot, and now has again sued to have his name removed. The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out . . . Removing him from the ballot will cost about a million bucks, and will delay the delivery of absentee ballots to North Carolina citizens well beyond the statutory date for those ballots to be mailed. Nevertheless, it has been so ordered. (Speaking of which, here’s a name from the past: Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. Yep, he’s still there, with his thumb firmly pressed on the USPS scale.)
Postscript: As of this morning, just ahead of going to press, the ONSN learned that the crime cabal that is the TNC (Trump National Committee) and the GOP yesterday filed yet another lawsuit against the NC Board of Elections. This time, they’re claiming that the digital ID issued to UNC students (the UNC mobile One Card) does not meet the criteria for an acceptable ID for voting in North Carolina, contrary to a decision made by the State Board.[3] Note that the list of approved voter IDs (as promulgated by the NCSBE) includes a “College or university student ID approved by the State Board of Elections.“[4] Allowing students to use their student ID to vote was one of the selling points when the NC Voter ID law was passed. Thanks to Heather Cox Richardson for picking up on this bit of chicanery.
They are coming for your vote. Don’t give it away, or let them steal it. If you need to get a lawyer involved, I probably know a few.

One thing you haven’t mentioned is the one-sided NC Supreme Court. I’m not sure where all these idiotic suits will be heard but this SC is as bad as the US Supreme Court. While there is a raft of great attorneys to argue against these horrible suits, you are correct in your assessment that it’s all about delaying and mucking up the entire system. When you know you can’t win honestly, cheat, cheat, cheat.
Also the amendment being voted on in the election, stating voters must be 'CITIZENS" but does not define CITIZENS
